We are seeking enthusiastic, friendly individuals who love learning, building connections, and sharing their appreciation for art and history with our guests! Strong interpersonal skills are essential and basic computer proficiency is preferred.
SPECIAL EVENT & TEEN VOLUNTEERS
Don’t have a lot of time on your hands, but still want to give back?
This portion of our program is designed for high school students, college students and full-time workers who are interested in contributing to our mission without having to sacrifice previous engagements. On-boarding is required within 90 days of orientation. Required a minimum of three 2-3 hour shifts in a year.
Pre-Requisites for Teenage Volunteers (15-17):
- Complete Volunteer application
- Supply a Letter of Reference
Pre-Requisites for Special Event Volunteers (18+):
- Complete Volunteer application
- Pass a background check
VOLUNTEERS
Our Volunteers provide assistance in a variety of ways! From assisting on-site Educators with school programs and art based programs to assisting our staff to better visitor experience. On-boarding is required within 60 days of orientation with required additional training for specialized assignments. Requires a minimum commitment of four hours a month for a total of 48 hours a year.
Pre-Requisites for Volunteers (18+):
- Complete Volunteer application
- Pass background check
DOCENTS
Our docents educate guests by leading daily and private tours for multi-generational audiences. Docents are required to complete their 60 day on-boarding process and then commit to serving as a Volunteer for a minimum of 10 months before applying to our Docent program. Docents are required to complete an additional 10 week training course in the fall and receive periodic specialized training on programs and exhibits as continued education.
Approval on tours is contingent upon availability. Schedules are built by the Volunteer Manager to ensure equal opportunity and appropriate coverage.
