Shandon Camarillo-Whitson- Vendor (Visible Faith Jewelry Company)

Born and raised in Central California and spending part of her childhood in Nevada, Shandon was immersed in Western culture from a young age. Growing up in a family with a rich Western heritage, her father, Sonny Camarillo, was a professional cutting and reining horse trainer, while her uncles claimed multiple World Championship Team Roping Titles. Shandon, who started riding horse at 3 years of age, learned many disciplines within the horse industry and competed in team roping, goat tying, breakaway, barrel racing and cutting horse events in her younger years.
Her family spent many years living remotely in Nevada, where they heated with wood stoves, cooked on a wood-burning stove, and used kerosene lamps and an outhouse while managing yearlings and commercial cattle on large ranches, and working in the Nevada mining industry. This upbringing fostered a strong connection to the land and the Western way of life, which continues to influence Shandon’s work today.
Shandon’s journey eventually led her to Texas, where she attended Texas A&M and Tarleton State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and a Master’s in Business Administration. After college, Shandon moved to the Texas Hill Country, where she first ventured into the landscape and nursery business before discovering her true passion for creating jewelry. As a silversmith and engraver, she’s been perfecting her craft for the past 20 years, blending her Western and Southwestern influences into every piece of solid sterling silver, gold, turquoise, and diamond jewelry she has created throughout the years.
With over 30 years of experience as a fine artist, Shandon’s creative journey spans pencil, pen and ink, gouache, watercolor, acrylic, and most recently oil painting, as well as bronze sculpting, and has been under the tutelage of masters Deborah Copenhaver-Fellows and more recently Fred Fellows. She also has a talent for photography, creating personal study pieces, art, and professional product photography.
Her jewelry is a unique reflection of her heritage, and each design is a labor of love, whether it’s a creating meaningful Christian jewelry, or forging a striking piece featuring genuine turquoise and sterling silver, and gold and diamonds.
Shandon, her husband Brett, and their two sons live and ranch in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas, enjoying everything that the Western lifestyle has to offer—from farming and ranching to roping and everything in between.
