Home School Fridays

Join a Booth Museum Educator in exploring a variety of mediums and techniques in these classes for home school students, ages 7-12. Students take home a completed art project at the end of each class. Classes meet the first Friday of the month, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.

Home School Fridays (Reimagine the Booth Collection in the Style of Andy Warhol)
September 6, 2019
1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
Inspired by the current special exhibition, Warhol and the West, Andy Warhol’s unique use of color and printmaking technique will be used to recreate famous works from the Booth Collection in a modern pop art style. $10 for museum members / $12 for not-yet members. Min. 10 students / Max. 25 students. Location: The Booth Art Academy.

Home School Fridays (Shonto Begay inspired Self-Portraits)

Create a self-portrait painting in the lyrical style of contemporary Navajo artist Shonto Begay. $10 for museum members / $12 for not-yet members. Min. 10 students / Max. 25 students. Location: The Booth Art Academy.

Home School Fridays (Zentangle Landscapes)

Imagine and design a whimsical landscape using the abstract, patterned drawing technique of Zentangles then add splashes of vibrant color to complete the composition. $10 for museum members / $12 for not-yet members. Min. 10 students / Max. 25 students. Location: The Booth Art Academy.

Discover the unique traditional Japanese method of printmaking called Gyotaku by creating your own under the sea landscape with this fishy twist. $10 for museum members / $12 for not-yet members. Min. 10 students / Max. 25 students. Location: The Booth Art Academy.

Making American Art

 Join the Bartow History Museum and Booth Western Art Museum in celebrating the making of American Art! Homeschoolers will have the opportunity to see the Booth Museum’s Warhol and the West exhibition, learn about local artists who lived and worked in Bartow county, see a pottery throwing demonstration, and more. Learn how art allows us to glimpse moments in time and connects us to American history. Come prepared to make lots of arts and crafts inspired by historical artifacts and living, working artists! Home school students ages 5 – 12 years; registrations for groups of 10 or more call scheduling at 770-387-3849. $6.00 for students; $5.00 for parent
