Virtual President’s Day

Join Ms. Donna, educator and artist, to learn how to create your very own blind, line contour drawing of a president! Paintings and presidential photographs from the Booth collection will be the inspiration for this FREE family event. No reservation needed for this fun family event on Facebook.

 

Winter Virtual Open Studio
Friday, February 19, 2021
1:00 – 2:00 pm via Zoom

Families are invited to join a live, interactive Winter Open Studio where children ages 4-8 years create a fantastical tale and their very own Magic Mittens artwork out of easy to find materials at home! Helping hands of an adult are needed for the project. Registration REQUIRED!

Cost: $8 per household. Min. 3 households / Max. 15 households

Spring Break Virtual Art Camp
Monday – Friday, April 5 – April 9, 2021
10:00  – 11:30 am daily via Zoom, Ages 6 -12 years

Explore various artists, themes and mediums as participants create a new art project every day with a Booth educator/artist.  Registration REQUIRED! Link and list of materials will be sent to all registered participants. Check back for more details and registration information.

 

Virtual Art Lesson – National Cactus Day

Celebrate National Cactus Day with a Booth educator/artist! Participants can join FREE on the Booth Museum’s Facebook page for a hands-on art making experience celebrating all things cacti! No reservation needed for this fun family event on Facebook.

 

Home School Fridays

Join a Booth Museum Educator in exploring a variety of mediums and techniques in these classes for home school students, ages 7-12. Students take home a completed art project at the end of each class. Classes meet the first Friday of the month, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.

Homeschool Fridays (Who’s Your Hero?)
February 5, 2021
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Paint a portrait of one of your heroes by taking inspiration from Bobb Vann, an African American artist in Booth Museum’s permanent collection who is well known for his portraits of famous African Americans in history.

Cost: $5 per household. Min. 5 households / Max. 15 households

Homeschool Fridays (Paint and Play)
March 5, 2021
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Description: Create colorful artwork while playing with drawing materials and using your hand as the paintbrush like Booth Museum permanent collection artist, Carrie Fell.

Homeschool Fridays (Found Frames)
April 2, 2021
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Description: Create two companion portraits by repurposing a plate as a new way to create a masterpiece like Booth Museum permanent collection artist Jim Vogel, who frames his artwork with unique, everyday materials.

Cost: $5 per household. Min. 5 households / Max. 15 households

Homeschool Fridays (Historic Bust Sculptures)
May 7, 2021

Description: Sculpt a bust of a historic figure from the American West by looking at a sculpture created by Booth Museum permanent collection artist Harry Jackson.
