Home School Fridays

Join a Booth Museum Educator in exploring a variety of mediums and techniques in these classes for home school students, ages 7-12. Students take home a completed art project at the end of each class. Classes meet the first Friday of the month, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.

Home School Friday (Critter Comics)

Brainstorm and create original comics starring animals inspired by comic artist and illustrator Liz Climo.

Learn about radial symmetry and balance by creating scratch foam prints inspired by geometric patterns, shapes, and design.

Home School Fridays (Creating Skies in the Watercolor Lab)
December 7, 2018

Experiment in the art testing studio with different watercolor techniques that involve unique materials and a little bit of science! In the end, we will pick our favorite techniques to create beautify sky paintings.

America’s Native Peoples
September 12, 2018
10 am- 2 pm
Presented in conjunction with the Bartow History Museum, learn about the history and arts of the Cherokee and Creek prior to the 1830’s Indian Removal Act and the American Indians of the West. Hands-on activities at both locations will be sure to engage students!

Presidents’ Day
Monday, February 18, 2019 
10 am- 2 pm
It’s a special day for Home School students in grades 2-12. Celebrate Presidents’ Day at Booth Western Art Museum and Bartow History Museum! Explore historic examples of the roles of the President through a special exhibition and video presentation. Visit the Presidential Gallery, participate in art activities, and make discoveries about the Presidents at both museums.
