Home School Fridays

Join a Booth Museum Educator in exploring a variety of mediums and techniques in these classes for home school students, ages 7-12. Students take home a completed art project at the end of each class. Classes meet the first Friday of the month, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm.

Virtual Home School Fridays (Colorful Nature)
September 4, 2020
1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Description: Create land and sky-spaces with bright and colorful paint inspired by the photographs of artist Terri Loewenthal. (Upcoming photography exhibition American Dreams Or Imagined Lands).
Artwork: TBD
Supplies: Tempera or acrylic paint (several bright colors, black, and white), canvas, pencil, thick paper, paint brushes, palette (paper plate or cardboard), paper towel to dry paint brush, water cup to dry paint brush.

Cost: $5 per household. Min. 5 households / Max. 10 households

Virtual Home School Fridays (Where the Coyote Lives)
October 2, 2020
1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Description: Draw a coyote in a western landscape using atmospheric perspective.

Supplies: Pencil, Sharpie, paper, materials to color artwork (crayons, colored pencils or oil pastels recommended).

Virtual Home School Fridays (Animals in Focus)
November 6, 2020
1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Description: Illustrate animals with watercolor paint to create realistic shading and colors inspired by artist September Vhay.

Virtual Home School Fridays (Up in the Sky)
December 4, 2020
1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Description: Look at the sky from a worm’s eye perspective and draw what you see.
Artwork: TBD
Supplies: Pencil, Sharpie, paper, materials to color artwork (crayons, colored pencils or oil pastels recommended).
