Robert Glenn Ketchum & Eliot Porter: On Seeing Color

March 7 – July 26, 2020

This exhibition explores Porter's influence on Ketchum's photographic career. Porter's photographs on-loan from the Amon Carter Museum and were personally selected by Ketchum to highlight how the two photographers approached the American landscape and its vivid colors. This exhibition also explores the technical challenges both artists faced in bringing their colorful photographs to life, offering a teaching moment on the emergence of color photography as a medium. The Jackson Hole 5: Important Painters from the West

February 13 – June 7, 2020

This exhibit showcases new paintings by Amy Lay, Amy Ringholz, Kathryn Mapes Turner, September Vhay and Kathy Wipfler. These five exceptional artists live and work in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Each of them has a close connection to the beauty abundant wildlife of the area and the, which they feature in their work in their own very unique styles. Lonesome Dove: Photographs by Bill Wittliff

Through February 9, 2020

The Lonesome Dove miniseries, which first aired on CBS in 1989, continues to capture audiences. During its filming, renowned photographer Bill Wittliff documented the series with stunning photographs of the cast among the Western landscapes and in their iconic roles. Lonesome Dove, a travelling exhibition created by the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University in San Marcos in partnership with Humanities Texas, showcases fifty-five sepia toned prints from Wittliff, and audiences can again relive the exciting journey of Gus and Call.

New Beginnings: An American Story of Romantics and Modernists in the West

February 1 – August 23, 2020

Santa Fe and Taos were among the most important national and international art communities during the 1920s and 1930s. This exhibit explores their similarities, differences, and connections. Legions of American and European artists found new beginnings in the physical and cultural landscapes of northern New Mexico, resulting in a new and deeply rooted orientation for modern art in America. Plein Air Painters of the Southeast

January 7, 2020 – March 8, 2020

Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAP-SE), was founded in 2001 by Dee Beard Dean and is an organization of professional plein air painters bound by a common passion to promote the traditional methods of painting en plein air, or in the outdoors. The group currently features over 40 of the best plein air painters in the Southeast. Opening reception January 16.
