Technology can give a different view of the world we live in. From above, at an angle, or something in between, landscapes can offer many possibilities. Be inspired by a number of traditional and contemporary painting styles on display at Booth, then paint your view of the world.

Home School Friday: Build and Color
Friday, February 6, 2026 1:00 – 2:30 PM

Be inspired by Booth artists Alvin Marshall, Doyle Rogers and George Hallmark to create a western scene depicting Pueblos. Participants will use a variety of media to create their sculpture. The materials used will help create texture and bring the scene to life

President’s Day – Family/Home School Day
Monday, February 16, 2026
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Travel across the country without leaving Cartersville! Families will explore multiple states and Presidents through hands-on activities. Design a monument in Washington, D.C., create Lincoln-inspired portraits in Illinois, make Pop Art postcards in California, tackle a Texas ranch-style obstacle course, and create a medal to commemorate Georgia’s own Jimmy Carter. Learn, create, and make memories together as art and U.S. history comes to life! Presented jointly with Bartow History Museum. Registration required.

Home School Friday: Paint and Draw Architecture
Friday, March 6, 2026 1:00 – 2:30 PM

Participants will use watercolor techniques and sharpie to create a layered architecture scene. This unique process will use watercolor resist to create a pattern that will inspire the image on top. As part of the class, we will look at several Booth artists and sketch in the galleries. These sketches will serve as inspiration for the architecture in the final work.

TEEN Home School Friday: Visual Complexity
Friday, March 20, 2026 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Take inspiration from the colorful works of Booth artist Larry Pirnie. Cut and paint simple shapes that can work as a background for your favorite animal. Brainstorm ideas for ways to overlap each cut out and generate new forms. Choose an animal stencil to layer on top, or you may decide to boost your creativity and design a handmade stencil that is unique and you!

TEEN Home School Friday: Transfer and Reveal
May 8, 2026  1:00 – 3:00 PM

Let’s get expressive with ink and the printmaking process. We’ll create one-of-a-kind textured backgrounds that celebrate etched linework and the impressions made by simple tools. Painterly mark-making can combine with your handmade stencils to block out areas, revealing separate layers beneath and distinct shapes on the surface.

Home School Friday: Print and Draw
Friday, May 1, 2026   1:00-2:30 PM

Learn about scale and proportion by viewing Maynard Dixon’s, Red Butte with Mountain Men. Participants will use a marker transfer technique to create a landscape of their choice then draw in figures on top. This will allow them to test their knowledge on scale and proportion in a fun way.
