Evening Lecture with artists Jane Hunt and Michele Usibelli. Hunt’s award-winning paintings have been exhibited at notable galleries and museums internationally. Now based in Colorado, she frequently paints plein air and continues to be awed by the beauty surrounding her. Working primarily in oils, Michele Usibelli is an award-winning artist who also enjoys acrylics, gouache and pastels. Her work has been shown in both group and solo gallery exhibitions as well as regional, national and international juried exhibitions. Presented by the Booth Writers Guild, the Distinguished Songwriter Series, is a quarterly program hosted by singer-songwriter Scott Thompson that brings top Nashville songwriters to talk about their writing process and current projects. They will also sing songs they wrote that helped make people like George Jones, Patty Loveless, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton and George Strait famous, as well as their favorite songs they’ve written but have not been recorded yet. On Sunday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. our special guest will be Tony Arata, writer of the Garth Brooks hits “The Dance” and “The Change,” plus many others.

This special Art for Lunch will include multiple speakers and testimonies covering the topic of recovery from substance abuse, also how it affects Bartow County in itself. Portraits of Hope, Inc. provides support, encouragement, love, and hope to women and children facing life’s challenges after incarceration, drug addiction, and domestic violence. Watch award winning artist Robert Rodriguez perform an art demonstration on Booth Museum’s Facebook page. Rodrigues is known for creating the Quaker Oatmeal label, Santitas Corn Chip senorita on their package, and granny on Grandma’s Cookies. He also has created movie posters, a Superbowl poster, Ringling Bros. circus posters, Broadway theater posters, liqueur labels, and approximately 18 US postage stamps, including the Cowboys of the Silver Screen series.
