2-Day Painting Workshop with Artist Suzanne Barrett Justis / “Painting Your Pets”
July 19-20, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Let’s have fun painting your pets! Suzanne will be demoing the paintings of the two most popular pets, the cat and the dog. Students are welcome to bring photos of their own pets to paint or they can paint from the same reference photos as Suzanne. Learn how to start paintings by working with negative spaces, color block your pets into the substrate, and render your finished piece. Suzanne will also lecture and offer plenty of one-on-one instruction. The class will focus on Alla Prima painting covering everything from composition, color mixing, brush technique, using paint scrapers, and more. This class, for beginning to intermediate artists, is designed to be lighthearted and fun. There will be a drawing at the end, and 2 students will go home with Suzanne’s demos that were painted in class!
Minimum of 6 students, Maximum of 15 students
FEE: $300.00 for Booth Museum Members, $375.00 for not-yet-members
