3-Day Painting Workshop with TJ Cunningham / “Luminous Skies and Clouds: Painting Light, Form & Atmosphere”

There’s nothing quite like painting the sky and in the three-day, in-person workshop, we’ll slow down and really learn how to see it like artists and paint it with confidence. You’ll explore how to build light and form into your skies, how to use edges and color temperature to create atmosphere, and how to simplify what you see without losing the beauty of it. Whether you’re painting cloud studies or skies within a larger landscape, you’ll come away with practical tools and a clearer sense of what makes a sky painting work. I’ll walk you through my process step by step and you’ll have time to paint with plenty of individual help and feedback along the way. You’ll leave with multiple studies, at least one more resolved piece, and (hopefully!) a renewed excitement to paint the sky. Open to oil painters of all levels.
Minimum of 8 students, Maximum of 16 students.
