3-Day Painting Workshop with Phil Starke / “Mixing Color to Suggest Light and Form”

Level: Beginning to Advanced. Medium: Oil (Acrylic, Pastel, Gouache accepted).
Unlock the power of color to create the illusion of light, depth, and three-dimensional form in your paintings. This class focuses no the essential skill of color mixing as a means to capture atmosphere, model form, and direct the viewer’s eye. Through demos, guided exercises, and instructor feedback, students will learn how to understand the temperature relationships of light and shadow, mix harmonious color palettes that convey mood and time of day, create the illusion of volume using hue, value, and chroma, simplify complex lighting into clear color relationships and avoid common pitfalls that flatten a painting.
Minimum of 8 students, Maximum of 16 students.
