Do you ever wonder why your still-life composition looks flat or even underwhelming? Fortunately, there are simple guidelines to help improve your compositions and make them exciting to the viewer. In this 3-day workshop we will explore the key elements of an impactful composition. I will start a demo while I let you in on the three simple secrets to a better painting. I will focus on how to paint brass, copper, and silver effects. Students can paint from their own photos or from one of the many I will bring. After lunch you will start your own underpainting and drawing and begin the painting process. There will be discussion on brush strokes and blending techniques. Students will receive individual attention and daily critiques. My goal is to have you complete a painting that you will be proud of and use as a learning tool for future works.
