Legendary Songwriter Series
Max T. Barnes – Sunday, July 13, 2:00 p.m.
Please join us for an afternoon of great songs and the stories behind them with Max T. Barnes. Songs written by Max have been included on albums selling over 20 million copies.
Some of the most popular songs were ones recorded by John Anderson (“Let Go of the Stone”), Randy Travis (“Before You Kill Us All”), Diamond Rio (“How Your Love Makes Me Feel”), Collin Raye (“Love, Me”) and Vern Gosdin (“Way Down Deep.”) In 1992, “Love, Me” (I Read A Note My Grandma Wrote) received a Song of the Year nomination from the Country Music Association. The song did not win however, and the award was given to a song his father, Max D. Barnes had written with Vince Gill entitled, “Look at Us”. This is the only time a father and son were nominated for the award. Other artists who have recorded Barnes’ songs include George Jones, Alabama, Trace Atkins and Ray Stevens.
