DESCRIPTION:30 @ 30: 30 Native Artists\, 30 Artworks\, Made in Their 30s Curated by Tony Abeyta (Diné/Navajo)\nOn view: November 7\, 2026 – March 14\, 2027\nMember Opening: November 14\, 2026\, 4:00 – 7:00 PM \n30 @ 30: 30 Native Artists\, 30 Artworks\, Made in Their 30s\, is a special exhibition curated by acclaimed Indigenous artist Tony Abeyta. Opening November 7\, 2026\, the exhibition brings together works by 30 contemporary Native American artists currently in their 30s\, alongside select examples by influential artists whose breakthrough achievements emerged during the same pivotal stage of their careers. \nFeatured artists include Fritz Scholder (Luiseño)\, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith (Salish-Kootenai)\, T.C. Cannon (Caddo/Kiowa)\, and Earl Biss (Apsáalooke/Crow)\, among others. Through painting and a range of additional media\, the exhibition examines a formative period of artistic development when creators move beyond academic training and early experimentation to establish a distinct visual language and professional identity. \nMembers are invited to an exclusive opening on November 14\, 2026. DESCRIPTION:3-Day Workshop with Artist Paul Batch / “Designing Atmosphere: Painting Light\, Depth\, and Mood”\nWednesday\, April 28 – Friday\, April 30\, 2027\n9:00 AM – 4:00 PM \nThis three-day workshop focuses on building strong\, atmospheric landscape paintings through clear design and simplified structure. We’ll work from reference photos to develop paintings that emphasize light\, depth\, and mood rather than detail. The focus will be on seeing and organizing big shapes\, establishing a strong value structure\, and using color temperature to create space and atmosphere. I’ll demonstrate my process step by step\, talking through decisions as the painting develops\, and students will have time to work with individual feedback throughout.
