DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT: Family Weaving Workshop with Pascha Madrid (New Mexico)\nSaturday\, May 2\, 10 am- 12:30 pm\nAges 10 and up\nBorderlands Classroom \nDiscover the art of weaving in this hands-on family workshop led by Indigenous artist Pascha Madrid of the Isleta Pueblo (New Mexico). Two-member families will work in teams alongside Pascha to create a unique woven piece using rare-breed sheep’s wool.  Participants will learn traditional techniques while exploring the cultural stories and meanings behind the art form. This workshop is designed for participants ages 10 and up\, offering a collaborative and educational experience that celebrates community and Indigenous heritage. Take home not only your finished weaving but also a deeper appreciation for the art and traditions of Pueblo weaving. Curator of Photography Mark Medley will present a range of works by both Native and non-Native photographers\, from nineteenth-century pioneers including William Henry Jackson\, Jennie Ross Cobb\, and Edward S. Curtis to modern artists such as Zoë Marieh Urness\, Kevin Garrett\, and Douglas Miles. A particular highlight will be eight portraits of Native American survivors of the Battle of the Little Bighorn\, made during a 1948 reunion by South Dakota photographer Bill Groethe. \nLunch will be available for $15.00 plus tax. DESCRIPTION:Western American Art South of the Sweet Tea Line VII\nOn View: November 22\, 2025 – April 12\, 2026\nMember Opening: January 10\, 2026 \nFeaturing over 60 works of art gathered from across the South\, the Booth Western Art Museum is excited to welcome the next offering in its signature triennial exhibition series\, Western American Art South of the Sweet Tea Line VII. This upcoming version will feature new acquisitions to the Booth’s permanent collection and art given or loaned by Booth Members spread across the states of Georgia\, Florida\, Alabama and Tennessee. \nOccurring only every third year\, this interval provides the opportunity for the museum to become aware of new collectors and seek out new and interesting works from long time collectors that have recently been acquired or old favorites that have been in their collection for many years. Sweet Tea VII will feature approximately 40 paintings and 20 sculptures in both traditional and contemporary styles. Themes within the exhibition include landscapes; wildlife\, animals and birds; cowboys; and Native Americans. DESCRIPTION:January 7\, 2026\, 12:15 PM\, Miller/Rhoden Ballroom \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGeorgia artist Ann Litrel is joined by science writer Charles Seabrook with the AJC in this talk about the seven-year journey behind the Georgia Natural Wonders exhibit\, a selection of paintings from Litrel and Seabrook’s new book\, “35 Natural Wonders of Georgia to See before You Die.” The two co-authors share the story of their collaboration\, Seabrook telling the origins of his 2008 bucket list of the same name\, while Litrel dives into the adventures of painting and interpreting Georgia’s most spectacular nature destinations\, from the misty peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the alligator-filled waters of the Okefenokee Swamp.
