Booth members are invited to an opening for Booth’s newest photography exhibit Graham Hobart: Out of Africa and Into the West on July 31 from 1:30 – 4:30 EDT. Take a walk through the exhibit with Artist Graham Hobart and Photography Curator Sam Gerace beginning at 1:30 pm. Then, at 2:30 pm, a light reception opening will be offered in Eaton Atrium. Finally, at 3:30 pm, join Artist Graham Hobart as he discusses the inspiration behind the exhibit in Booth’s Bergman Theatre.
Hobart takes on the American West through his extraordinary black and white infrared photography. Upon seeing Hobart’s photographs of African animals and landscapes, in 2014, Booth’s Executive Director Seth Hopkins commissioned Hobart and dared him to “go out and capture the American West in his unique illustrative style as he had in Africa”. This exhibition is Hobart’s response to that call and features over a decade of his work in the American West and Africa. CLICK HERE to see current and upcoming exhibitions at the Booth Museum.
