KSU – OLLI – The Civil War in the Far West – Continuing Education and Professional Development
Military campaigns of the Civil War were fought far west of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, even further west than Texas. Few recognize the significance of the struggle that extended into the Western Territories and to California. Confederate leaders had plans to create a corridor from the Rio Grands to the Pacific coast and south into Northern Mexico.
