Presented by the Booth Writers Guild, the Distinguished Songwriter Series is a quarterly program hosted by singer-songwriter Scott Thompson that brings top Nashville songwriters to talk about their writing process and current projects. They will also sing songs they wrote that helped make people like Gary Morris, Diamond Rio, Patty Loveless, Garth Brooks and Chris Young famous, as well as their favorite songs they’ve written but have not been recorded yet.
On Sunday, June 11 at 2:00 PM, our special guests will be Kent Blazy, writer of the Garth Brooks hits “If Tomorrow Never Comes” and “Ain’t Going Down,” and Cory Batten, writer of Blake Shelton’s “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” which was closely followed by his second #1, Chris Young’s “Gettin’ You Home.” Recently, Cory’s duet “The Call” was recorded by country stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
Writers Guild Members $5, Booth Members $10, not-yet-members $15. Located in Booth’s Bergman Theatre.
