3-Day Painting Workshop with Artist Gary Baughman / “Portraying Reflective Surfaces in Oil”

Are you attracted to the reflective surfaces of glass, silver, brass, or water but feel a bit intimidated to try to paint them? In this workshop, we’ll explore the sources and science of reflections and how to portray them accurately and realistically in paintings. We’ll practice these principles by painting a new still-life replete with reflective subjects each day while learning how to confidently paint the shapes, tones, and colors of reflected light from any object.  On Saturday, painting reflective water surfaces such as lakes, streams, and rainy streets will be discussed and demonstrated. Students may opt to paint a waterscape from personal references or continue study from a fresh classroom still-life arrangement.  All levels of experience welcome.

FEE:  $325.00 for Booth Museum Members, $400.00 for not-yet-members
