BAA “Painting the Historic Figure/Portrait” Workshop

3-Day Figure/Portrait Workshop with Artist Mike Wimmer / “Painting the Historic Figure/Portrait”
August 1-3, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

In this 3-Day intensive Workshop Mike will start with a presentation showcasing the process of collecting research and the transformation from research to the finished painting. Mike will then share his process of lighting the model in a narrative and dynamic way, using photography as an aide to better storytelling. Costumed models will be provided by The Booth Museum. Utilizing the reference photos and the model, Mike will share his working methods with a painting demonstration and then work with students individually in developing their compositions throughout the workshop. Mike will then be available for 2 weeks online for questions and advice in completing the paintings started in class.
Minimum of 10 students, Maximum of 16 students
FEE:  $450.00 for Booth Museum Members, $525.00 for not-yet-members
