This three day course will focus on painting on location (plein air) as a form of study and not as a performance art. We will discuss and examine not only “how” to create work outdoors, but also the all-important “why”. This conceptual aspect of painting is something that many artists pass by and it is the very essence of artistic intent. We will be working primarily outside and approaching our subjects with methods ranging from sketching (visual journaling) to simple color studies to more developed and finished works. This class is intended for experienced painters. All media are welcome, however the daily demos will be conducted in oil. I will also be doing short demos in charcoal and white chalk on gray paper. Minimum of 8 students, Maximum of 15 students. FEE: $570 for Booth Museum Members, $595 for not-yet-members. Register
