Any subject can be broken down into simple shapes.  We will learn to see as painters, first by doing some quick studies from simple still life objects.  Translating this understanding to painting the figure from photos will then be our focus, rather than creating detailed portraits, or rendering photographic images.  Tips for simplifying the subject, while communicating gesture and feeling will be emphasized.  We want to catch the truth in a light and effective way!  A live model session will…
