Adult – 3-Day Oil & Pastel Workshop with Artist Gary Baughman / Trees, Seas, and Cloud-Strewn Skies
August 14 @ 9:00 am - August 16 @ 4:00 pm
Gary Baughman’s paintings are steeped in a logical understanding of biologic and atmospheric principles that govern the appearance of natural things. He weaves this understanding into his painting lessons in order that students will be able to portray their works in a more believable but painterly way. Students will glean a fresh understanding about natural subjects and an enlightened eye for finding and rendering good painting studies. Gary’s teaching style is one of “making strengths stronger and weaknesses irrelevant.” He is a patient encourager to which his past and current students will attest. Gary is an avid plein air artist and one of the goals of this workshop is to teach the students to work more rapidly in the alla prima mode in preparation for their own plein air work. Painting in small formats, 9×12 and 11×14, students will be encouraged to accomplish at least two finished works per day. Beginners to intermediate students. Students can work with either oils or pastels. Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 12 students
FEE: $225.00 for Booth Museum Members, $250.00 for not-yet-members. Register
