October 20, 2022 is the first day of our Cowboy Festival and Symposium weekend, and we are starting off strong!
Passport to the West – SOLD OUT
Thursday October 20 and Friday October 21, 2022 9:00 AM —1:00 PM
Teachers! Bring your students back in time with Passport to the West! Visit a Cree encampment and learn about Plains Indian culture from Katrina Big Mountain Fischer. Attend “East Meets West” a special living history performance featuring American Indian Jim Sawgrass (focus on Eastern Woodland & Plains cultures). University of West Georgia Anthropology students host pottery & gorget making and lead students through the chunky stone game! Students will be able to roam around the festival grounds (with a chaperone of course) and learn about the West, pioneer life, clothing, and more! This is an OUTDOOR event (with a rain plan).
