SUMMARY:BAA 3-Day “Waterfalls\, Creeks\, and Ponds in Oil or Pastels” Workshop
DESCRIPTION:3-Day Workshop with Artist Nikki Davidson / “Waterfalls\, Creeks\, and Ponds in Oil or Pastels”\nNovember 1 – 3\, 2024\, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm \nThere’s a rhythm to the movement of water whether it’s a cascading waterfall\, a creek with little tributaries moving over and around rocks\, or a gentle breeze causing ripples in a pond.  These are easy techniques to master and I’m excited to share them with you.  As well as the water element\, the student will be instructed in common sense approaches to painting rocks\, transparency in water\, and reflections. On the first day\, students will paint along with me as I demonstrate how to paint the varied elements of moving water.  Day two will focus on the student’s own compositions using their photo references or mine.  On the third day we will finish our compositions and start a second painting.  My focus is always on lots of individual attention and having fun. \nMinimum of 5 students\, Maximum of 15 students\nFEE: $350 for Booth Museum Members\, $425 for not-yet-members \nREGISTER HERE \nFor more BAA art classes\, CLICK HERE

SUMMARY:BAA 3-Day “Painting Foundations - From Beginner to Intermediate” Workshop
DESCRIPTION:3-Day Workshop with Artist Jackie Jones/ “Painting Foundations – From Beginner to Intermediate”\nThursday – Saturday\, November 7-9\, 2024\, 9:00 am –4:00 pm\nThis workshop will give you a strong foundation for any genre of painting from landscape to still-life to figurative. Using geometric shapes in still-life set-ups students will learn (or refresh their skills) in: drawing\, perspective\, value\, composition\, depth of field\, and paint application. These shapes are found in the landscape\, i.e. a cone may represent a spruce tree\, the cylinder a tree trunk\, a half sphere the bouquet of treetops and the cube a rough hewn rock. Like puzzle pieces\, the halftones\, cast shadows and reflected lights are key players that link the shade and light families. Aerial perspective is gained with overlap\, size/scale change\, value\, and edges. Color theory\, color mixing\, and composition will round out the class giving you a solid foundation and strengthen your skills as we create a painting. Acrylics and water soluble oils are welcome. \nMinimum of 10 students\, Maximum of 15 students\nFEE:  $450.00 for Booth Museum Members\, $525.00 for not-yet-members \nREGISTER HERE \nFor more BAA classes\, CLICK HERE
