DESCRIPTION:Western American Art South of the Sweet Tea Line VII\nOn View: November 22\, 2025 – April 12\, 2026\nMember Opening: January 10\, 2026 \nFeaturing over 60 works of art gathered from across the South\, the Booth Western Art Museum is excited to welcome the next offering in its signature triennial exhibition series\, Western American Art South of the Sweet Tea Line VII. This upcoming version will feature new acquisitions to the Booth’s permanent collection and art given or loaned by Booth Members spread across the states of Georgia\, Florida\, Alabama and Tennessee. \nOccurring only every third year\, this interval provides the opportunity for the museum to become aware of new collectors and seek out new and interesting works from long time collectors that have recently been acquired or old favorites that have been in their collection for many years. Sweet Tea VII will feature approximately 40 paintings and 20 sculptures in both traditional and contemporary styles. Themes within the exhibition include landscapes; wildlife\, animals and birds; cowboys; and Native Americans. Some of the artists include Jason Rich\, Nancy Cawdrey\, Mark Maggiori\, Bonnie Marris\, Fred Fellows\, Sandy Graves and John Coleman. \nMembers are invited to join the Booth Museum on January 10\, 2026 for an exclusive Member Opening for Western American Art South of the Sweet Tea Line VII. Members have the option to register for a 4:00 PM gallery walk (Special Exhibition Gallery) first and reception at 5:00 PM (Eaton Atrium) or a 4:00 PM reception and 5:00 PM gallery walk. At 6:00 PM all members are invited to Bergman Theatre for a lecture diving more into the exhibition. DESCRIPTION:4-Day Painting Workshop with Jeff Legg/ “The Beauty of Still Life”\nWednesday\, January 14 – Saturday\, January 17\, 2026\n9:00 AM – 4:00 PM \nStill life has its challenges. Jeff will bring life into your work by teaching ways of conceptualizing the subject that engages the viewer. Learn how to think in terms of painting light and movement. Students will learn Jeff’s though process in setting up a subject and executing it by going directly to oil paint. Observe as Jeff demonstrates his painting methods and principles each day with commentary throughout the process. There will be open discussions on material choices\, prop selection\, paint application\, values\, colors choices and lighting. Students will receive special attention to their particular needs. On the fourth day\, there will be a live portrait model.
