SUMMARY:BAA "Palette Knife Techniques in Oils” workshop
DESCRIPTION:BAA 3-Day Workshop with Artist Michele Byrne / “Palette Knife Techniques in Oils”\nWednesday – Friday\, October 9-11\, 2024 9:00 am –4:00 pm\n\nEveryone has a palette knife in their toolbox\, but do you know how to use it? In this class I’ll teach you how! There are various ways to hold and use a knife to produce different effects and it can all be accomplished with one or two knives. You will learn new ways to create drama with thick juicy paint.  I’ll also walk you through my design process\, from my value study/thrust map to final composition\, explaining my thought process along the way\, This is a great class if you are not comfortable with a knife and want to learn how to use it for limited areas of your piece such as buildings and telephone poles and wires. Or you can use it for the whole piece.  Please bring 4 to 5 photos of your own and I’ll help you create a great composition with a value study. Then you will move on to create a new painting full of life\, drama\, and movement.  I will also cover a day on adding figures to create a story. A figure placed at the correct area will help move the viewers eye through the painting to enhance that story. \n\nMinimum of 8 students\, Maximum of 16 students\nFEE:  $425.00 for Booth Museum Members\, $500.00 for not-yet-members \nREGISTER HERE \nFor more BAA art classes\, CLICK HERE \n

SUMMARY:BAA 3-Day “Waterfalls\, Creeks\, and Ponds in Oil or Pastels” Workshop
DESCRIPTION:3-Day Workshop with Artist Nikki Davidson / “Waterfalls\, Creeks\, and Ponds in Oil or Pastels”\nNovember 1 – 3\, 2024\, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm \nThere’s a rhythm to the movement of water whether it’s a cascading waterfall\, a creek with little tributaries moving over and around rocks\, or a gentle breeze causing ripples in a pond.  These are easy techniques to master and I’m excited to share them with you.  As well as the water element\, the student will be instructed in common sense approaches to painting rocks\, transparency in water\, and reflections. On the first day\, students will paint along with me as I demonstrate how to paint the varied elements of moving water.  Day two will focus on the student’s own compositions using their photo references or mine.  On the third day we will finish our compositions and start a second painting.  My focus is always on lots of individual attention and having fun. \nMinimum of 5 students\, Maximum of 15 students\nFEE: $350 for Booth Museum Members\, $425 for not-yet-members \nREGISTER HERE \nFor more BAA art classes\, CLICK HERE
