The resulting works will be on display at the Booth Western Art Museum from January to early March 2025\, offering a stunning perspective on Georgia’s coastal landscapes and Savannah’s cityscapes. \nJoin us on January 8 for an engaging talk featuring Olmsted Arts Executive Director Philip M. Cuthbertson\, along with artists Michael Mills and Donna Biggee. They will share insights about the featured works\, their creative process\, and their personal experience with plein air painting. She is the 2015 Creative Writing Contest winner in the Georgia Writers Museum\, and her stories appear in GRITS (Girls Raised in the South)\, the Atlanta Jewish Times\, and the Georgia Writers Association among others. Her book Descendants\, available on Amazon\, is a collection of essays about her family from the plantation to modern day. She is currently writing a fiction collection. \n-Ron Cagle – With a background in industrial cost engineering and a lifelong passion for Western art\, Ron’s storytelling brings a technical yet heartfelt perspective to his writing. He has been actively involved in the Booth Museum’s Writer’s Guild\, channeling his love for literature and the West. \nRon will be reading a short story: My Short Career as a ‘Professional Stud’\, which illustrates the use of dialogue\, rather than an abundance of adjectives\, to create imagery \n-Pat Margeson – Pat\, with a career spanning the airline industry and business\, brings a seasoned voice to her Western storytelling. As a Circle member of the Booth Writer’s Guild\, she combines her life experiences with a fresh enthusiasm for exploring the American West through her writing. Pat will talk about writing as a great way to express your emotions. \n-Denise McAllister – Denise is a member of the Booth Western Art Museum’s Writer’s Guild\, Western Writers of America\, Women Writing the West\, and N.E. Georgia Writers. She has co-authored nine novels for Wolfpack/CKN Christian Publishing\, and recently penned a new mystery series. DESCRIPTION:3-Day Portrait Workshop with Artist Bart Lindstrom \nThe workshop will be three days\, focusing on painting portraits with full-color alla prima methods. Bart Lindstrom will demonstrate his approach to using color and values. Workshop attendees will first be introduced to color mixing and then helped to understand why it is based directly on complimentary color theory. Attendees will then be given a chance to work with the palette and color system from live models with direct assistance and guidance. The Art of David Wright: Historian with a Brush\, will feature highlights from throughout his storied career and several important historical artifacts seen in some of Wright’s paintings. \nDuring opening weekend the Booth Museum will host a Saturday afternoon symposium on the life and times of the Mountain Man\, featuring panel discussions with some of the top historians in the country\, at 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. This will be followed by a reception at 4:30 p.m. and a lecture at 5:30 p.m. by Wright on the highlights of his career. \nOpening day activities are free for Museum members or can be accessed with a special $35 opening day ticket\, which must be purchased in advance. \nMember Tickets \nNot-Yet Member Tickets
