DESCRIPTION:3-Day Workshop with Jackie Jones / “Painting Foundations – From Beginner to Intermediate”\nMonday\, November 17 – Wednesday\, November 19\, 2025\n9:00 AM – 4:00 PM \nThis workshop will give you a strong foundation for any genre of painting from landscape to still-life to figurative.  Using geometric shapes in still-life set-ups students will learn (or refresh their skills) in: drawing\, perspective\, value\, composition\, depth of field\, and paint application. These shapes are found in the landscape\, i.e. a cone may represent a spruce tree\, the cylinder a tree trunk\, a half sphere the bouquet of treetops and the cube a rough hewn rock. Like puzzle pieces\, the halftones\, cast shadows and reflected lights are key players that link the shade and light families. Aerial perspective is gained with overlap\, size/scale change\, value\, and edges. Color theory\, color mixing\, and composition will round out the class giving you a solid foundation and strengthening your skills as we create a painting.
