The Booth holds two regularly scheduled public lectures per month featuring authors, writers, historians and artists.
Art for Lunch is on the first Wednesday of every month from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm .
Evening lectures are held on the third Thursday evening each month at 7:00 pm.
All lectures are in the Booth Theatre; admission is free for members and volunteers and included with Museum admission for not-yet-members. Ticketed events may have additional fees.

Major Events
Members-only Exhibition Opening Reception for Ansel Adams: A Legacy
September 25, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Members are invited to preview 125 of Adams' most famous images, originally printed by the artist himself and given to The Friends of Photograhy to represent his legacy. At 5:00 and 7:00 pm, photo-historian and curator Susan Todd-Raque will present a keynote lecture on the life and career of Adams; focusing on his stirring portraiture, high resolution still lifes, and transformative images of America's wilderness. Members can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres in the Booth Ballroom.

Featuring more than 40 stunning images, this exhibition showcases the flora and fauna of Yellowstone National Park in all seasons and weather conditions, as seen through the lens of master photographer Tom Murphy.
Ansel Adams: A Legacy
September 25, 2010 – February 20, 2011 Temporary & Special Exhibition Galleries
Showcasing more than 100 photographs by famed landscape photographer Ansel Adams, this exhibition is a tribute to one of the 20th century’s most admired artists. Many of Adams’ most famous images are included and presented in the more intimate scale he intended them to be viewed. These prints were originally created by the artist himself in his California darkroom and given to The Friends of Photography to represent his legacy.

Guns of the Old West in the Booth Ballroom. Displaying both historic weapons and modern reproductions from his personal collection Director of Special Projects Jim Dunham will offer an informative look at the guns that won the west. He will also show images from the Booth collection featuring period firearms. Lunch will be available for purchase.
Evening Lecture

Ansel Adams: The Man, The Negative & The Print in the Booth Theatre. In anticipation of the opening of Ansel Adams: A Legacy, award-winning photographer John Mariana will share his insights on the genius of Ansel Adams by examining his life and his legendary darkroom techniques.
